The growth of an e-commerce company is not just about marketing and sales. At some point, it's about whether you can manage your own operation. Bozonožka encountered this moment when the volume of orders began to hit the limits of the warehouse. Thanks to the systematic setting of processes and the implementation of a smart warehouse system (LOKiA WMS), it now stands on solid foundations that allow it to expand further.
From a personal need to a brand with a million-dollar turnover
The story of Bosonožka begins like many strong brands – from personal experience. The founder of the company was looking for quality barefoot shoes for her son, but could not find a solution on the market that would meet her expectations. So she decided to take matters into her own hands.
What was originally a small initiative gradually grew into a brand that is now one of the most important barefoot shoe retailers in Central Europe. Today, Bosonožka achieves a turnover of over 200 million crowns and serves thousands of customers across online and offline channels.
From the beginning, the company built not only on the product, but also on a strong relationship with customers and an emphasis on the quality of service.
Growth that brings new challenges
As demand grew, the complexity of the entire operation naturally grew. Bosonožka currently operates as a combination of an e-shop and a brick-and-mortar store and operates its own warehouse in Brno with an area of approximately 1,000 m².
However, the increasing volume of orders gradually began to place new demands on logistics and internal processes. "When a company grows, it is no longer enough to solve things operationally. Suddenly you need a system that you can rely on and fully trust," describes the situation, Bosonožky CTO Jaroslav Bednář.
What used to work thanks to flexibility and team commitment became less sustainable as volumes increased. Products, orders, and warehouse operations increased – and with them the risk of errors, delays, or inefficiencies.
LOKiA WMS recommendation directly from the auditor
At a certain stage of development, the company realized that further growth would not be possible without a more fundamental change in warehouse management. Instead of making partial adjustments, Bosonožka decided to go a systematic way and had a logistics audit carried out. This helped to identify weaknesses and opportunities for streamlining operations.
"The audit helped us take a step back and look at our operations from a distance. Thanks to this, we clarified what we actually needed to change so that operations would not slow us down," explains Bednář.
One of the key recommendations was to implement a smart warehouse management system (WMS) that could handle the growing complexity while allowing the company to scale. And the auditor directly recommended LOKiA WMS based on his experience. from GRiT .
Smart warehouse software brought a clear structure to the warehouse, process management and better control over daily operations. This made it possible to:
- streamline warehouse operations,
- reduce picking errors,
- speed up order processing
- and better plan warehouse capacities.
But the fundamental benefit was not just in individual functions, but in the overall calming and stabilizing of operations. "Suddenly you know that things are working as they should. You don't have to deal with every detail operationally and you can focus on where the company is headed," describes Bednář.
Stable operation as the basis for further growth
Thanks to the setting up of warehouse processes and the implementation of WMS, Bosonožka has gained a solid foundation for further development. Today, the company can handle increasing order volumes without a negative impact on the quality of services. Operations are no longer a brake, but on the contrary, a support for further growth.
This allows Bosonožce to devote its energy to areas that move the brand forward - such as brand building, rebranding, or expansion into foreign markets.
"Previously, we mainly focused on making sure everything worked. Today, we have the space to decide where we want to move," says Bednář.
The story of Bosonožka clearly shows that for a company to grow healthily, it needs not only technological solutions, but also stable infrastructure and functional processes. Thanks to this, the company that started with one individual need is now a successful e-commerce player, which has a solid foundation for further expansion thanks to LOKiA WMC.
