Frequently Asked Questions

A WMS (Warehouse Management System) is a system for managing warehouse operations. It handles inventory records and controls receiving, put-away, picking, packing, stocktaking, and staff workflows to ensure the warehouse operates according to clear rules with real-time data.

For company management, this means better control over the movement of goods, lower error rates, and more reliable data for managing capacity, warehouse performance, and future growth.

An ERP system records inventory, while a WMS manages it. An ERP provides a company-wide overview of stock levels and finances, but a WMS specializes in the physical movement of goods—monitoring the flow of items and warehouse staff, verifying picking accuracy, managing routes, returns, and stocktakes, and tracking inventory levels. It actively optimizes the entire warehouse operation. While some ERPs include warehouse modules, they cannot be compared to a comprehensive WMS solution.

The price of LOKiA WMS consists of two parts and is based on the specific needs of your company and the scope of the deployment.

The first part is a one-time fee for system activation and deployment, which covers initial setup and other tasks related to launching the system in your warehouse. For more complex operations, this also includes a detailed logistics analysis to define processes, the scope of integrations, and the final solution design. The second part is a monthly fee, which is based on the modules used, the number of users, and the complexity of your operations.

You don't have to. LOKiA WMS is deployed alongside your existing ERP or accounting system. It has built-in connections, particularly for ABRA and Pohoda. Integration with other ERP and accounting systems is also possible, though it always depends on the integration capabilities offered by the other system. In practice, the limitation is not LOKiA WMS itself, but the openness and requirements of the system you wish to connect to. Therefore, we always assess the specific integration option based on your environment.

LOKiA WMS can be seamlessly connected to ERP and accounting systems, e-commerce platforms, and shipping carriers.

The implementation timeline depends on the scope of the project. For simpler warehouses without integrations or complex processes, it can take just a few days; for medium-complexity projects, it may take weeks; and for complex operations, it can take several months. Warehouse size, the number of SKUs, the number of warehouse staff, and integration requirements are the primary indicators of project scope.

Implementing a WMS does not have to mean major operational disruptions, but it is wise to plan for a transition phase. In the first few weeks after launch, there is usually a period of fine-tuning, which is more noticeable in complex projects. At the same time, companies often adjust their warehouse workflows, responsibilities, and information flows.

Yes, LOKiA WMS can manage picking using FIFO, LIFO, and FEFO methods. This allows you to configure goods dispatch based on expiration dates, batches, and the specific requirements of your product range.

Yes, LOKiA WMS significantly speeds up inventory counts, often reducing the process from weeks or months to just days. By using barcode scanners and real-time tracking, it minimizes manual work, allows for inventory to be taken during normal operations, and increases data accuracy. Furthermore, warehouse staff are guided directly to items, making the entire process faster and more organized.

All you need is an internet connection and a device (a phone or mobile terminal) to run the system. If you want to use the mobile app in your warehouse, you will need an Android device. We can advise you on the selection of suitable scanners and other equipment based on your specific operations.
