Overview of pallet contents via SSCC codes and electronic delivery notes before arrival
Get an overview of every pallet's contents before the goods are delivered.
Combined with the DESADV electronic delivery note, they allow customers to know in advance what is on each pallet, enabling faster, more accurate goods receipt with less manual checking. At the same time, they help suppliers meet business partner requirements, provide precise information about pallet contents, and reduce errors in downstream processes.

1 unique SSCC code
instant identification of the pallet, shipment, and its contents
Up to 30%
faster goods receipt
1 source of data
fewer errors, fewer claims, and better document traceability
Who is this solution for
This solution is suitable for companies that ship or receive palletized goods and need to work with accurate shipment data, meet customer requirements for logistics labels and electronic delivery notes, or ensure the unique identification of logistics units.
These are most often companies that:
supply to retail, pharmaceuticals, wholesale, or distribution networks,
have received a request from a customer for SSCC codes,
want to speed up and improve the accuracy of goods receipt at their business partners,
need to better integrate orders, deliveries, and invoices,
use ORiON EDI for electronic data interchange and want to expand their electronic communication to include pallet deliveries.

What is an SSCC code and what is it used for?
SSCC, or Serial Shipping Container Code, is a unique code used to identify a logistics unit. In practice, it is most commonly used for pallets, containers, or other transport units.
Each pallet is assigned its own SSCC code. This is printed on a logistics label and simultaneously sent to the recipient in an electronic delivery note.
This lets the recipient know exactly what a specific pallet should contain. When receiving the goods, the warehouse worker scans the label code, and the system compares the received pallet against the data that arrived in advance.
What is an SSCC code used for?
Requirements for SSCC codes often come from larger buyers, retail chains, pharmaceutical companies, or distribution networks. For suppliers, this means that simply sending the goods with a standard delivery note is no longer enough.
Recipients need delivery data in advance. Ideally, in a format that lets their warehouse know what is arriving, in what quantity, and on which pallet.
This is exactly what SSCC codes combined with an electronic delivery note are for. They allow suppliers to provide precise shipment information, giving recipients the data they need for efficient goods receipt.
How SSCC codes on pallets work in practice
The supplier prepares the goods on pallets and assigns an SSCC code to each one. This code is printed on a logistics label and attached to the specific pallet.
At the same time, it sends an electronic delivery note to the customer, detailing what is on each pallet. In EDI communication, this electronic delivery note is known as a DESADV.
The customer receives data about the shipment before the goods even arrive. During intake, the warehouse scans the SSCC code from the label, and the system verifies that the physical pallet matches the pre-sent data.
This reduces manual checks, the need to unpack pallets, and the time spent resolving discrepancies between goods, orders, and documents.
Need to create a logistics label with an SSCC code?
To generate an SSCC code and prepare a logistics label, you can use the online tool vytvoretiketu.cz. You can use it to prepare labels according to GS1 standards and customer requirements.
However, if you need to integrate SSCC codes with electronic delivery notes, orders, invoicing, and communication with your customer, you need to set up the entire process in line with your systems. GRiT can help you with that.
