Managing a warehouse today does not just mean watching over the shelves and shipping. It means managing people, processes, customer expectations and having support in the system when you manage the warehouse from a managerial role, not from a daily operative position. when you are not a "warehousekeeper in body and soul". This is exactly the situation that Zdeněk Němec, warehouse manager at TRANS-TECHNIK, found himself in. How does LOKiA WMS help him in his managerial role ?

Mr. Němč, what is your role in the TRANS-TECHNIK warehouse?

I am the warehouse manager, so I am in charge of the warehouse workers, the organization of work, and most importantly, making sure that all orders are shipped on time and in the best possible quality. It's not just about "putting something in and out of stock", but overseeing the entire process from receiving the goods to shipping.

And I'll admit it openly - even after a year, I'm still learning about the warehouse. I'm not a typical warehouse worker, I'm more of a manager who is in charge of the warehouse. And that's why it's crucial for me to have a system that gives me security.

What was the main impetus for deploying LOKiA WMS?

We needed an overview, control and order. Among other things, we have substances and materials in the warehouse with expiration dates, different batches and specific customer requirements. Without a system, it is simply impossible to maintain it in the long term.

LOKiA WMS helps us in several essential things – in quickly training new people, in tracking warehouse workers or in working with barcodes. Thanks to this warehouse system, we have a clear overview of where everything is and how much we have, and it also monitors expiration dates and batches.

How does monitoring expiration dates and batches work in practice?

This is a crucial topic for us. Some goods have a limited shelf life and the FIFO principle must be followed - first in, first out - meaning that the goods that were stored first are issued first.

Without an automated system, this is extremely difficult to maintain. But LOKiA WMS takes care of it for us. When the expiration date is approaching, the system automatically blocks the goods, the warehouse workers cannot access them at all, and it appears in my reports, and we can decide what to do next.

The result? We don't keep goods in the warehouse that are no longer in order, we free up space and don't have to expand the shelves or the entire warehouse unnecessarily.

What impact does LOKiA WMS have on overall warehouse efficiency?

Huge. When you have order in your warehouse, you save space and are more efficient overall. Thanks to tracking, warehouse workers don't walk back and forth confusedly, but the system guides them position by position. They don't go back, they don't take steps back, the work is smoother and faster.

I can also see their movements in the warehouse, so I have an overview of how the work is actually going on.

How do barcodes and work traceability work?

Barcodes are another big help for us. We have an overview of who picked a task, when they picked it, and how much they picked. If there is a problem, I know exactly where it originated. And it's not about finding the culprit, but about improving processes.

Moreover, if the order is incomplete, LOKiA WMS will not allow us to complete it. Customer service is automatically informed, they will let the customer know, and as soon as the goods are back in stock, the task is completed and shipped complete. Thanks to this, we maintain quality relationships with customers and suppliers. Nothing goes “half-way” or wrong by mistake.

Does the system help with new employees?

Yes, especially with the initial training. And honestly, it probably doesn't get any faster than that.

A new warehouse worker receives login details, undergoes five minutes of training and can start working. The system guides them step by step, they don't have to remember complicated procedures. For me as a manager, this is a huge relief.

What about technical support and cooperation with the supplier?

The technical support is absolutely great for me. When I solve something, I usually get an answer within one day, at most the next morning it's done.

The cooperation with the company GRiT , specifically with Mr. Rozman, is truly sensational. It works humanely, quickly and without unnecessary complications.

So would you recommend LOKiA WMS to other companies?

Absolutely yes. LOKiA WMS simplifies work not only for me, but for the entire warehouse. It minimizes errors, monitors quality, speeds up processes and helps build trust with customers.

And that is perhaps the most important thing today.
