In order to serve hundreds of pharmacies across the country every day, it relies on the digitalization of processes and a long-term partnership with GRiT .

"Previously, we only had a few suppliers who were able to communicate electronically. Today, it is an absolutely key part of our processes," says Miroslav Králík , manager of PHOENIX.

Thanks to EDI – electronic data interchange – orders, delivery notes and invoices now move between PHOENIX and its partners fully automatically. The company has an immediate overview of planned deliveries, can better schedule work in warehouses and ramps and saves up to 90% of the time that employees previously spent manually checking documents.

"EDI speeds up not only the processing of documents, but also the availability of the drugs themselves. The faster the correct information reaches us, the sooner the drug can be physically with the customer," adds Králík.

The power of long-term partnership

GRiT is not just a system supplier for PHOENIX. It is a partner that helps develop the entire electronic communication environment - from integrating new suppliers to optimizing internal processes.

"At GRiT, we have a dedicated person who takes care of acquisition communication towards our suppliers - he explains the benefits of EDI, helps with technical connections and handles all the details. Thanks to this, we don't have to burden our IT or sales departments internally," explains Králík, a big benefit.

GRiT also operates a portal through which new suppliers can find out everything they need to know about EDI and easily join the system. In practice, this means that connecting a new partner is now a matter of days, not months.

"When our supplier changes the ERP system or needs to adjust the integration, they communicate directly with GRiT. We don't worry about anything - we just get a message that everything is running new and fully ready from a certain date. That's a huge relief for us," adds Králík.

Common goal? A smooth and efficient chain

Thanks to the cooperation with GRiT, we are able to involve more and more partners, thereby strengthening the entire supply chain. Each new supplier that communicates electronically brings further acceleration and stability.

"The more partners use EDI, the smoother and more efficient the entire process becomes - from order to drug delivery. And that is the value of our cooperation," explains the manager of PHOENIX.

The partnership also includes joint development of internal processes. PHOENIX and GRiT regularly hold workshops to explore further opportunities to get the most out of EDI data – whether it's control templates, statistics for buyers, or expanding the digital archive.

"What I appreciate about working with David Reichl from GRiT is that these are not theoretical discussions. We stand together on the ramp, monitor the receipt of goods, and look for specific ways to speed up and streamline processes," describes Králík.

What's next? Digitize the entire market

From PHOENIX's perspective, the cooperation with GRiT is strategic for the future as well. The company wants to advance digitalization in pharmacy and motivate other market players to do the same.

"Of the five largest distributors, we are probably the only ones who are really trying to delve into the topic of electronic data interchange. We need a partner who will help us spread this idea further - explain the benefits of EDI, support new engagement and develop the quality of services," says Králík.
