Current state and problem
The sheep farm prospered in the long term. The number of orders and the range of products grew. The logistics operation was mastered, but it increasingly depended on the experience of specific people and the ability to react quickly. As the volume of orders grew, it became clear that this model was not sustainable in the long term.
Warehouse management was not based on clearly defined rules, but on the knowledge of the team. New or seasonal workers needed a longer training period and inventories were a significant burden. The differences between records and reality had a direct financial impact on the value of the warehouse, which was around CZK 160 million.
Proposed solution
The sheep farm switched to LOKiA WMS as a system that took over the management of receipt, storage, picking and inventory. Warehouse management has shifted from individual experience to clearly defined rules. Operations have ceased to depend on who is on duty at the moment and have become transparent and repeatable. New and seasonal workers can quickly join the operation without a long training period. The processes guide them and determine what to do.
Thanks to this, the company can safely increase order volume and develop sales in other European markets without the warehouse representing a limit to further growth.
Resulting changes
“Growth is not about getting the order into the house, but getting it out to the customer. That's where LOKiA is a key helper. In retrospect, you'll see for yourself that the initial investment was quite ridiculous money for how it will move you.“
