Current state and problem
Originally, Motopoint did not use any warehouse system and relied on each warehouse worker knowing the warehouse by heart. This required a longer training period for new employees if a senior warehouse worker left the company or was absent for a long time due to vacation or illness.
As turnover and inventory grew, they switched to a simple "position" system that was part of their Pohoda accounting system. However, even that did not cover the company's growing needs and was unable to effectively manage the increasingly extensive warehouse operations.
Proposed solution
In 2023, the move to a new central warehouse in Liberec with an area of 3,500 m2 came. Based on the audit, Motopoint decided to deploy the LOKiA WMS warehouse management system. They liked it mainly because of its flexibility and easy integration with Pohoda. Today, Motopoint prioritizes tasks in the warehouse and manages to ship all orders received by 4 p.m. the same day. In addition, thanks to the ability to log in from anywhere and wide reporting options, the warehouse manager can constantly monitor what is happening in the warehouse, even when working from home.
Resulting changes
“In retrospect, we appreciate that GRiT performed a thorough warehouse analysis for us and then made us test key functions. Thanks to this, we tried them out and by the time of the live deployment in the new Liberec warehouse, we already had everything tuned up.”“
