Asset tracking

Asset tracking is a collection of methods used to track physical assets in a company. The most common and simplest method is to mark the assets with a barcode , which employees scan with a barcode reader each time they handle them. This creates an audit trail and the company can track how the assets are handled over time.

For even more accurate asset registration, it can be equipped with, for example, GPS, RFID (radio frequency identification) or BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) chips, thanks to which the current location of the asset can be monitored non-stop. Recently, NFC (near-field communication) technology has also been used in companies, which has the advantage that the reading device can also be a smartphone, so the company does not have to purchase new technologies for receiving the signal.
