P2P (peer-to-peer)

This is a designation of a type of computer network. Clients in these networks communicate directly (as equals). The term P2P refers primarily to networks where counterparties exchange data with each other (e.g. torrents). The basic advantage is that compared to communication via a server, which has a constant capacity and with increasing clients, the transfer speed decreases, in P2P networks the available transfer capacity increases with increasing clients.

The speed and efficiency of P2P networks is also used by the Instant Payment service, which allows suppliers to simply and very quickly (within 3 days) finance their receivables from large customers using EDI communication and private equity auctions.
