Since 2009 International Article Number or Global Trade Item Number (GTIN).
A unique international numerical identification, especially for consumer products and other tradable items, which is often printed on products in the form of a barcode. This code then allows for the streamlining and acceleration of the entire business and logistics process and is also used to identify goods in the electronic document interchange (EDI) system. Thanks to the use of RFID readers, warehouse staff can, for example, find out all the necessary information about the packaging with a single click and then place the goods in the correct place in the warehouse.
