A practical webinar for e-commerce companies that need to pick more orders without constantly adding more people, overtime, and increasing error rates. Using the story of Ovečkárna, we will show how changing warehouse management can significantly speed up picking, better handle seasonal peaks, and prepare the warehouse for a higher volume of orders.

When orders increase, the warehouse often comes under pressure before the rest of the company.

Orders are waiting to be picked, packaging is not getting a steady flow of work, and with the carriers' cut-off approaching, there is a risk that everything will not be done in time. Warehouse workers are returning to the same parts of the warehouse, more experienced workers are handling exceptions, and managers have to manually change priorities.

During the season, temporary workers are added and need to be trained quickly. However, if the work depends on "someone knowing where everything is," the warehouse's performance cannot be scaled.

Ovečkárna was also dealing with a similar situation. Before implementing WMS, it managed about 1,500 orders per shift with 35 people. After changing the warehouse management, the same team can handle up to 6,000.

In the webinar, we will show what is behind it - picking, multipicking, working with priorities, routes, readers, packaging and seasonal peaks. Using the specific example of an e-commerce warehouse.

In the webinar we will go over:

Where e-commerce warehouses most often lose capacity during picking

We will look at typical signals that the current warehouse picking method is no longer sufficient .

Why more people doesn't automatically mean more orders filled

In e-commerce, the first reaction to an increase in orders is often to increase the number of shifts. But if the warehouse doesn’t have clearly defined tasks, routes, positions, and controls, new people can add more manual coordination. We’ll show you why it’s important to first change the way you work, and then scale your team.

How Ovečkárna changed warehouse work

We will show you what Ovečkárna was dealing with before implementing WMS and what changed afterwards.

Picking and multipicking in practice

We will explain the difference between regular picking per order and multipicking. We will show when it makes sense to pick multiple orders at once and what needs to be prepared in the warehouse for multipicking to truly speed up shipping without increasing the error rate.

What needs to be set up for the warehouse to handle seasonal peaks

We will look at working with temporary workers, warehouse positions, checking goods, tracking packaging, and order priorities.
