On-premise system

An on-premise system is software that is installed and operated directly on the company's or user's computers. The company has all the software "on-site" - on its own server and workstations.

The opposite of on-premise is off-premise, which is better known as cloud . In this case, the software is not installed locally on the company's or user's computers, but on a remote (cloud) server to which users connect remotely via the Internet.
