The year-on-year growth in number of ORION EDI reports exceeded 20%

Companies in the Czech Republic ever more computerise their business processes using electronic documents interchange with their business partners.

The total volume of electronic interchange of documents (EDI – Electronic Data Interchange) passing through the CCV Information Systems ORION EDI consolidation centre has exceeded last year's 20.4 million EDI reports. In comparison with 2012, the volume of documents transmitted by the leading consolidator grew by more than a fifth. This is particularly due to a significant growth in the EDI penetration outside large retail chains of fast-moving consumer goods.

"Many factors can be seen behind the expansion of EDI. Due to the current economic situation, the effects of supply chains processes acceleration are especially tangible. In addition to the now-common order and invoice, customers are trying to motivate their partners to implement other reports such as advice of delivery. As for customer, most frequently used reports are a notice of receipt of goods or a credit note, which are being used more and more often," says David Reichel, Director of CCV Information Systems eBusiness division.
