EDI project of 2016 dominated by L’Oréal Company3. January 2017
28th November 2016, Brno – The winner of the current, already the sixth in a row, year of a contest for the best EDI project of the year has become L’Oréal company, a global leader in cosmetics industry, with a project „Joint EDI solution for national branches of L’Oréal“. The newsroom of the professional portal EdiZone appreciated especially the complexity of the solution, which has brought significant savings from harmonization of formats of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI – Electronic Data Interchange). L’Oréal thus got rid of worries about conversion of documents into an enterprise system, which is now solved automatically with the help of Orion solution from CCV Information systems. Simultaneously, the project has enabled widening of portfolio of EDI messages used by electronic delivery note (DESADV) and electronic invoice (INVOIC) with Hungarian customers. Other awards throughout the gala evening that took place on 24th November on the premises of Southern city brewery in Prague – Chodov have been awarded to companies ROSA market and HENKEL ČR.
The main award in the hands of L’Oréal Company proves the latest trend, when the digitization of business and logistics documents asserts ever more often in new market segments. The advantages and benefits of EDI are thus proven throughout various fields, not excluding the area of cosmetics. This fact is also evidenced by Oldřich Pola, Data WHS manager in L’Oréal: „By consolidating the high volume of transmitted and converted documents, not only have we saved hundreds of thousands of forints annually but the change has been positively received by the users from sales and client service themselves who have gained better overview of the documents. Owing to the harmonization, a significant time saving has occurred. Requirements that we used to pile up on our foreign IT service and that were prioritized according to the needs of the whole company are now finished in days.“
One of the other two award recipients was also ROSA market Company that attracted attention in the contest with a project „Acceleration of business processes using EDI communication for wholesale and retail vendors of ENAPO chain stores“. Thanks to the implementation of this project, the electronic data interchange in the ROSA market Company includes not only order (EDI message ORDERS), but also invoice (INVOIC) or advice of; goods dispatch – delivery note (DESADV).
Among the top three this year has been ranked once again, after a two-year pause, HENKEL ČR, this time with a project „Usage of EDI communication in the area Beauty Care Professional – division Schwarzkopf Professional of HENKEL Company“. Simultaneously, the Czech branch has become the first in Europe to start using EDI for the area of professional hair care cosmetics. The pilot project of electronic invoice interchange in structured formats UN/EDIFACT and ISDOC has been launched with a chain of hairdressing saloons Klier.
