CCV Information systems will connect to EDI communication also wholesale and retail suppliers of ROSA market

20. April 2016

20th April 2016, Brno – After the electronic data interchange (EDI) has spread from multinational chain stores with fast-moving consumer goods also to other market segments like internet stores, chain stores focused on consumer electronics or hobby markets, it is successfully conquering another part of the market. It’s a „traditional retail“, i.e. smaller independent retail networks on a highly competitive market that cannot fall behind the bigger chain stores in any area, including more effective data interchange with their business partners. EDI is thus being fully promoted, e.g. in ROSA market, a distributor of food and drugstore goods with a network of their own retail stores associated under a well-known brand ENAPO. A complete EDI arrangement, including connecting of both wholesale and retail suppliers of ROSA market (the so-called roll-out), is being implemented by CCV Information systems Company.

The wholesale in the first wave

With regard to the fact that the biggest benefits of EDI communication come from connecting the maximum number of suppliers and using the biggest number of EDI messages possible, ROSA market Company has started the electronic communication with their suppliers with three EDI messages at the same time. These are an order (EDI message ORDERS), an invoice (INVOIC) and a delivery advice – delivery note (DESADV). In the near future, the next messages are supposed to follow – acknowledgement of order (ORDRSP) and receipt card (RECADV).

In the first project phase, ROSA market focused on two hundreds of wholesale suppliers. In the first month only is thus 40 % of suppliers fully ready for EDI communication, which is 80 supplying companies, whereas in the first 20 of them CCV Information Systems has already carried out an initial connecting. In the second project phase, it will also come to connecting the suppliers to retail network of stores ENAPO.

Using EDI advantages for higher effectiveness

The strong competition on the market represents significant pressure on the overall effectiveness of ROSA market. Therefore, they decided to optimize their business and logistics flows in the supply chain through EDI communication. „The benefits are unequivocal. I am not thinking just about the automatic document clearance and the associated internal savings but also about the elimination of error rate in the process of processing documents. EDI has got the positive impact on higher effectiveness of the supply chain also thanks to the fact that we have been implementing an electronic delivery advice right from the beginning which significantly speeds up the whole process. Important for the overall success are also the speed and flexibility of our EDI provider,“ says David Doubrava, chief financial officer and confidential clerk at ROSA market.

„EDI is for its simplicity and immediate benefits nowadays already a clear trend in the whole range of business areas. It’s therefore only logical that not even traditional retail could stand aside. Because besides ROSA market, we are recording quotes for EDI implementation from other independent retail networks, too," says David Reichel, a managing director of eBusiness division of CCV Information Systems.
